A police sub-inspector has been shot dead in Jharkhand. The incident took place in Ranchi’s Kanke area last night. The person who shot the police officer is yet to be identified. The deceased police officer was a 2018 batch officer and was currently on leave. The incident is under investigation. An SIT has been formed to investigate the crime under the leadership of SP Rural Sumit Agarwal.

Ranchi SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha said, ‘Sub-inspector Anup Kachhap, who was posted at the headquarters of the Special Branch, was murdered last night. The deceased police officer’s colleague and batchmate Pawan Kumar has told that they had gone to Line Hotel to eat. After dinner, the rest of the people returned to Kanke, but the sub-inspector went by another route.
In such a situation, it is being investigated why he went by another route and what happened? This is being investigated by the SIT. It seems that the shot was fired from close range. An SIT has been formed to investigate the crime under the leadership of SP Rural Sumit Agarwal and other officers have also been assigned to investigate the matter.’

According to media reports, the needle of suspicion in the murder of the police sub-inspector is turning towards his policeman friends. In fact, after the shooting, the friend himself took the body of police sub-inspector Anoop Kachhap to RIMS hospital and the other informed the police. Both are being questioned for taking the body to the hospital without informing the police.
