Jharkhand News Today: A sensational case has come to light from Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. Here a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her minor boyfriend and his 6 friends for two days. A police officer gave this information on Wednesday. The officer said that an FIR has been lodged against 7 people at Dhansar police station, about 160 km from Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi, and raids are being conducted to nab the accused. Dhansar police station in-charge Manoj Pandey said that the accused not only raped the girl, but one of them also made a video of the incident on a mobile phone. He said, ‘We have recovered the mobile from the crime scene.’
According to the victim’s statement, her boyfriend called her to his house on Sunday evening and raped her along with one of his friends. After committing the crime, the accused locked her in a room. The victim told the police that the next evening five other friends of her boyfriend raped her in a bush near the same house.
The police officer said that after hearing the girl’s plea for help, the locals reached the spot but by then all five boys had fled. He said, ‘When we raided the girl’s boyfriend’s house, we did not find anyone there. We are also trying to trace the victim’s family.’ Pandey said that the girl was taken to the hospital for medical examination. Later, on the instructions of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), the victim was sent to a shelter home.
Rape of a girl in Delhi
Meanwhile, a minor has been arrested for raping a seven-year-old girl in the country’s capital Delhi. Officials said that the Lodhi Colony police station received information about the case on Sunday. Police said that the victim’s mother in her complaint to the police said that a 16-year-old boy living in their neighborhood sexually assaulted her daughter in his house about three-four days ago.
The police officer said that the girl was taken for medical examination and an FIR was registered under Section 376 AB (rape of a girl under twelve years of age) of the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO). The police officer said, ‘We have arrested a minor and he has been sent to the remand home. At present, further investigation is going on in the case.’
