The Jharkhand government will present the budget for the upcoming financial year 2025-26 on March 3 during the budget session. The Governor’s address will be held on the first day of the session on February 24 at 11:30 am. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has divided the departments among 5 ministers to answer questions related to the departments.
Jharkhand News: During the budget session of Jharkhand Assembly, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has divided the departments among 5 ministers to answer the questions related to the departments. The Cabinet Monitoring and Coordination Department has issued its notification.
Now these ministers will be responsible for questions, attention, request, petition, bill, resolution etc. related to the CM’s department apart from their departments.
These 5 ministers got the responsibility
- Deepak Biruwa: Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Official Language, Cabinet Secretariat and Monitoring Department (without parliamentary work), Cabinet (Election) Department
- Chamra Linda: Department of Women, Child Development and Social Security
- Ramdas Soren: Law Department, Information and Public Relations Department, Information Technology and e-Governance Department
- Yogendra Prasad: Home, Prison and Disaster Management Department (without disaster management), Energy Department, Mines and Geology Department
- Sudhivya Kumar: Road Construction Department, Building Construction Department, Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department
Budget session will start in Jharkhand from 24 February, main budget will be presented on 3 March
This session will run from 24 February to 27 March. On the first day, there is a program of Governor’s address and oath taking of new members. After this, there will be debate on the Governor’s address on 25 and 27 February. On 28 February, the government will present the third supplementary budget and on 3 March the budget for the coming financial year will be presented.
Cabinet meeting of Jharkhand government on 18 February
A cabinet meeting will be held on next Tuesday, February 18, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, in which preparations are being made to bring many proposals related to the budget session. The Jharkhand government is preparing to collect cess at par with other mineral-rich states. Reports have been sought from the states and the Mines Department is preparing a proposal related to this.
A proposal related to increasing the rate of cess on mineral-bearing land may come up in the cabinet meeting. A target has been set to increase it by 12.5 percent from the previous rate. Apart from this, the state government is also preparing to increase the rate for many projects related to roads. Three dozen proposals are expected to be discussed in the meeting.
