Jharkhand CM Champai Soren took back all the departments from jailed minister Alamgir Alam

Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren on Friday gave a shock to Congress leader and cabinet minister in his government Alamgir Alam by withdrawing all the departments from him.

Chief Minister Champai Soren has taken back all the departments of Jharkhand minister Alamgir Alam, who is in jail in the tender scam case. Alamgir Alam was arrested by the ED in the tender allocation commission scam case and after his arrest, the departmental work was getting affected, after which he has taken this decision.

In a major decision, Jharkhand CM has allotted all the four departments to Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam, Parliamentary Affairs, Rural Development, Rural Works and Panchayati Raj. The notification of this reshuffle of departments has already been issued. This decision of JMM CM is being considered a big setback for the Rural Minister and Congress.

Congress leader Alamgir Alam was arrested by ED in the tender scam cash embezzlement case, but despite being in jail, he did not resign from his post. Now Champai Soren has taken back all the departments. This seems to be seen as a signal from the CM to the Congress that the party should take a decision on him (Alam). Otherwise he should be asked to resign from his post himself or the CM can dismiss him from the post of cabinet minister, because Alamgir Alam will remain a minister without portfolio.

Crores of cash found in minister secretary’s house

More than Rs 37 crore cash was recovered from the house of the servant of Alamgir Alam’s secretary. In this connection, he was arrested after interrogation.

Who is Alamgir Alam?

Alamgir Alam has been a Congress MLA from Pakur Assembly for four times and is currently the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Rural Development in the state government. Earlier, Alamgir Alam was also the Speaker of the Jharkhand Assembly from 20 October 2006 to 12 December 2009. After inheriting politics, Alamgir entered politics by winning the Sarpanch election. He became an MLA for the first time in 2000 and since then he has become an MLA four times.

In 2005, Alamgir Alam was elected MLA from Pakur. He defeated Akil Akhtar of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha by 18066 votes. In 2009, Akil Akhtar of JMM became MLA. But in 2014, there was a sudden political change. Alamgir Alam, who was an MLA from Congress, then contested the election on the ticket of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and won.
