A 60-year-old laborer was allegedly beaten to death by his three neighbors in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. Police gave information about this matter. According to the police, a woman is also included among the three neighbours.
Police said that there was an altercation over the behavior of a drunk elderly person, after which the neighbors carried out this incident. A senior police officer said that the incident took place in Pongara village under Karaikela police station area on Saturday night, where three villagers beat an elderly person to death with iron rods, sticks and stones.
He said that after getting information about the incident on Sunday, a police team reached the village and recovered the body of the deceased Suniya Karua. According to the officer, three accused were arrested after interrogation.
According to the local people, Suniya was a daily wage laborer and had a habit of drinking and he often used to create ruckus in the village after drinking alcohol. According to people, on Saturday night, the accused asked an intoxicated Sunia to behave properly, due to which an altercation broke out. The officer said that within a short time the dispute escalated and the three accused from the same family started beating Sunia with sticks, iron rods and stones.
He told that Sunia was taken to the sub-divisional hospital in Chakradharpur, where doctors declared her dead. The officer said that after the post-mortem, the body was handed over to his family members. He said that all the accused were sent to judicial custody on Sunday.
