Jharkhand News The nomination papers filed on three seats of the second (fifth phase of the country) Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand were scrutinized on Saturday. In this, nominations of eight candidates in Chatra, two in Hazaribagh and one in Koderma were cancelled. After cancellation of nominations, a total of 23 candidates are left in Chatra and 17 each in Hazaribagh and Koderma.

The last date for withdrawal of nominations on these seats is May 6. After this it will be known how many candidates will be in the fray for these seats. There are no big names among the candidates whose nominations have been canceled on these four seats. In Chatra, nomination of Nagamani’s wife Suchitra Sinha has been cancelled. Along with Nagmani, his wife had also filed nomination on BSP ticket.
Nominations of many independent candidates canceled
The candidates whose nominations were canceled here include Sitaram Singh of Jaiprakash Janata Dal and independent candidates Rupesh Oraon, Nabu Bhuyan, Anuj Kumar, Umesh Ganjhu, Rajesh Kumar Singh and Ashesh Singh. Among the 13 candidates who filed nominations in the Gandey by-election of Jharkhand Assembly, the nominations of two independents, Ziauddin Ansari and Mukhtar Ansari, were rejected.
Now 11 candidates are left here. Here also the last date for withdrawal of nominations is fixed as May 6. Here, under the ongoing nomination process on four seats of the third phase (sixth in the country), a total of 27 candidates filed nominations on Saturday.
Five candidates filed nominations in Giridih, six in Dhanbad, seven in Ranchi and nine in Jamshedpur. So far, 13 nominations have been made in Giridih, 18 in Dhanbad, 17 in Ranchi and 20 in Jamshedpur. The last date for nomination on these four seats in urban areas is May 6.
