Jharkhand News: The news of elephant terror in forested Jharkhand is not new. From here, there are continuous reports of elephants killing or injuring people. In this sequence, a herd of elephants crushed a 26-year-old man in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand.
Giving this information on Sunday, the police said that this incident took place on Saturday evening near Sunsunia village in Chakulia forest area of Ghatshila mandal when Santosh Munda had gone out of the house for defecation.
Police said that Munda tried to run away after seeing the herd but was attacked by the elephants. He said that the victim was taken to a nearby hospital. Where the doctors declared him dead. Munda’s father had died a few months ago and he was the sole breadwinner in the family. Elephants also damaged the crops in the surrounding areas.
On November 14 also, a herd of elephants had killed a person in West Singhbhum. The deceased person was identified as Narada Munda (aged 55) of Gadasai Tola of Basira village. That day at around 3 o’clock in the afternoon, he was returning to the village after harvesting paddy from his field. While returning home from the edge of the forest, the man was attacked by a herd of elephants. Not only this, an elephant even caught the man by his trunk and threw him on the ground. In which he died.
Earlier, on Saturday, October 21, in Gumla, Jharkhand, 52 year old Dukhan Nagesia was crushed to death by a wild elephant. Family members had told that Dukhan Nagesia was preparing to feed the cattle as usual. Meanwhile, as he came out of the house. A wild elephant attacked him and he died.
