There is huge tension in the area. In fact, BJP leader Rajendra Sahu, who was injured in the firing on Saturday, died during treatment in Ranchi. He was shot 5 times by unknown criminals. As soon as the information about Rajendra Sahu’s death reached Balumath in Latehar, people started gathering. The crowd that descended on the road was demanding immediate arrest of the criminals.
The criminals had fired on Saturday
Coal businessman cum BJP leader Rajendra Prasad Sahu was attacked on Saturday. Unidentified criminals fired at him in which he was hit by five bullets. Rajendra Sahu, who was seriously injured after being shot, was rushed by the local people to Balumath Hospital where he was referred to Ranchi after first aid.
He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Ranchi. On Saturday too, there was resentment among the local people over the attack and a large number of people took to the streets to protest.
Criminals had attacked last year as well
Significantly, Rajendra Sahu was also attacked last year. However, his security guard was with him then so the criminals could not succeed in their plan. But this Saturday the criminals struck again. Rajendra Sahu is identified as a big coal businessman in Latehar. Here, in protest against the massacre, people have blocked the Ranchi-Chatra main road near Balumath.
