Today is completion of 60 days
Former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren was arrested on January 31. His 60 days of judicial custody are completing on March 30. As a rule, it is mandatory to file charge sheet within 60 days of the arrest of an accused.
Has not given satisfactory answer
Let it be noted that after his arrest, ED had taken Hemant Soren on remand and started questioning him from 3rd February. On the orders of the court, his remand period was extended twice and he was interrogated for a total of 13 days on many points including transactions in purchase of land, WhatsApp chatting, transfer and posting of officers. The agency had told the court that Hemant Soren did not give direct and satisfactory answers on many points.
Are in judicial custody till April 4
Hemant Soren continued to deny his ownership of the land. On this, ED had placed before him the evidence of 8.46 acres of land found from the mobile phone of Revenue Sub Inspector of Badgai Zone Bhanu Pratap Prasad. Hemant Soren is currently in judicial custody till April 4. After the ED chargesheet, further proceedings to prosecute him will begin.
In this charge sheet, Rs 36 lakh 34 thousand 500 recovered from Hemant Soren’s residence in New Delhi and documents related to land scam will also be included. ED will also tell that the BMW car recovered from there is also connected to Hemant Soren.
