A woman allegedly threw her newborn baby girl in a river in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. After this, the police arrested her. Police said that the 30-year-old woman had gone to take a bath with her daughter in Durku village of Jadugora. There she threw her daughter in the river.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Musabani) Sandeep Bhagat said that the body of the girl was found on Monday. Bhagat said that the woman’s husband has lodged an FIR in this regard but the exact reason for the woman’s act could not be ascertained immediately. The woman has been arrested and the case is being investigated.
