Once again a mountain of currency notes has been found in Jharkhand. On Friday, ED raided the house of land dealer Kamlesh Kumar in a land scam and recovered Rs 1 crore in cash and 100 live cartridges. ED’s search is continuing.
In the land scam in Ranchi, ED raided the house of land dealer Kamlesh Kumar on Friday and recovered Rs 1 crore in cash and 100 live cartridges. Shekhar Kushwaha, associated with the syndicate that grabbed land by making fake documents, had given information about Kamlesh Kumar grabbing land at many places in BAU and Kanke area with the help of fake land documents. After the case came to light, ED summoned Kamlesh Kumar for questioning at Ranchi Zonal Office, but Kamlesh had absconded.
On Friday at 12 noon, ED reached the flat located at Astro Green, Chandni Chowk, Kanke Road. Before that, Kamlesh had left from there. ED searched the flat in the presence of independent witnesses, then one crore rupees in cash and 100 live cartridges were found. Many important evidences including documents related to the land have also been found. After the raid at the Kanke Road house, ED also started raiding Kamlesh’s Cheshire Home Road residence late in the evening, which was going on till the time of writing the news.
ED sent a letter to DGP, handed over the cartridges to the police
After the recovery of the cartridges, ED Assistant Director Devvrat Jha wrote a letter to DGP Ajay Kumar Singh demanding action in the matter. At around six in the evening, ED handed over the recovered cartridges to Ranchi Police. Ranchi Police team also reached the apartment on the information of ED. On the complaint of ED, the agency has directed Ranchi Police to register a case under the Arms Act.
Sold land in the name of police housing, also had a stake in Kanke resort
Kamlesh has previously been jailed in the case of illegal occupation of BAU’s land in Kanke. Kanke police had sent him to jail in this case. According to the information, Kamlesh had also sold land to many police officers of the state by manipulating the documents of non-cultivated land. Among these, the case related to former DGP DK Pandey was famous. A case of fraud is also registered against Kamlesh in Gonda police station. ED has received information that Kamlesh also had a stake in Kanke resort.
How was Kamlesh’s involvement known
ED had recovered chats with Kamlesh from the mobile phones of Priyaranjan Sahay, Shekhar Kushwaha and other accused of the syndicate that made fake land documents. Evidence of exchange of fake documents was found in it. ED had then sent summons to Kamlesh. Before joining the land business, Kamlesh used to work in media.
