What is the plan for women in Bengal?

In West Bengal, money is transferred directly to the accounts of women. This work is done under the ‘Lakshmi Bhandar Yojana’, which was started before the assembly elections in 2021. According to the scheme, the Mamata Banerjee government deposits Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,200 in the accounts of women aged 25 to 60 years in West Bengal. While general women are given Rs 1,000, women belonging to Scheduled Castes are given Rs 1,200.
