Security forces have achieved a major success in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district. Four Naxalites have been killed in an encounter, including the zonal commander and area commander. Actually, a team of police and security forces had gone out for a search operation and during this time the Naxalites attacked them. In retaliation, the security forces killed four Naxalites.
Security forces in Jharkhand have achieved a major success against Naxalites. Officials said that four Naxalites including a woman were killed in an encounter with the police in the early hours of Monday in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. He said that the encounter took place in Tonto and Goilkera areas.
Jharkhand Police spokesperson and IG (Operations) Amol V Homkar told the news agency, ‘Four Maoists were killed in the encounter, while two have been arrested. The IG said that among the four Maoists killed, there was a zonal commander, a sub-zonal commander, an area commander and a cadre of the organization’
Two others including a female Naxalite were also arrested and one of them is the area commander of the organization. Another police officer said that the team had gone out on a search operation. Meanwhile, the Naxalites sitting in ambush started firing and the police also retaliated in which four Naxalites were killed. He said that the search operation is still going on.
Let us tell you that just two days ago, the security forces had launched a big operation against Naxalites in Chhattisgarh adjacent to Jharkhand and killed 8 Naxalites. This encounter took place in Narayanpur-Abujhmad of Chhattisgarh. A soldier was also injured in this operation.
Let us tell you that in Chhattisgarh, a joint team of police and security forces is continuously running anti-Naxal operations in which more than 120 Naxalites have been killed so far this year. In the month of May, security forces killed a large number of Naxalites in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.
