Jharkhand: Notification of fifth phase released, nomination begins for three Lok Sabha seats

The BJP has fielded Kalicharan Singh in place of its sitting MP Sunil Kumar Singh, who had defeated Congress’s Manoj Kumar Yadav by a margin of over 3.77 lakh votes in 2019. With the release of the notification for the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections, filing of nomination papers for three Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand – Chatra, Koderma and Hazaribagh started on Friday. On the first day of document submission, BJP candidate Kalicharan Singh filed his nomination papers for Chatra Lok Sabha constituency. Voting on all three seats will be held on May 20.

Speaking to reporters before filing his nomination, Singh said, “I am grateful to the party for reposing confidence in me. I am sure that people will vote in favor of the BJP because they want the country to be under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.” Want development.”

Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on May 4 and the last date for withdrawal of such documents is May 6.

More than 58.22 lakh voters, including 28.29 lakh women, are eligible to exercise their franchise in the three Lok Sabha constituencies. Apart from Kalicharan, BJP has fielded Union Minister Annapurna Devi from Koderma and MLA Manish Jaiswal from Hazaribagh Lok Sabha seat.

From the opposition group INDIA, Congress has nominated MLA JP Patel, who recently joined the BJP, from Hazaribagh and former MLA KN Tripathi from Chatra parliamentary constituency. Opposition ally CPI-ML (L) has fielded its Bagodar MLA Vinod Kumar Singh from Koderma seat.
