Heavy rains lashed most parts of Jharkhand including Ranchi on Wednesday. Due to this there is a boom in the rivers. Water has started entering the low-lying areas. Seeing the rise in the rivers, the administration has also been alerted.

However, the Meteorological Department says that the speed of rain will decrease from Thursday, but the monsoon will remain active. Here, with the rains, the work of farming in the state got intensified. The state received 27.5 mm of rain in the last 24 hours, almost three times the normal of 9.3 mm. The rainfall deficiency in the state since June 1 has been 39 percent.

Highest rainfall in West Singhbhum

West Singhbhum is receiving maximum rainfall. Here Mazgaon has received 148.4 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. There is a strong boom in Kharkai and Subarnarekha in Jamshedpur. Kharkai is flowing above the danger mark. On the other hand, the water level of Ganga is increasing continuously in Sahibganj.

Ganga will cross the red mark in the next two days. Due to torrential rains throughout the day in Ranchi, the pace of the city came to a standstill. This speed stopped due to accumulation of water on the roads and construction of bridge-drain. Incessant and heavy rains led to water-logging at many places. The dirty water of the drains kept flowing on the roads.

Water logging and traffic jam due to heavy rains in Ranchi

The worst situation was from Kantatoli Chowk to Bahubazar area. The drain water kept flowing on the road near the petrol pump ahead of Bahubazar. Due to this this main road was obstructed for a long time.

Hundreds of potholes have been formed due to rain and water logging. Due to water logging here, the two wheeler drivers were troubled due to the splashes of the vehicles carrying hiccups from these potholes. The entire road has become dilapidated due to the construction of the flyover.

Due to this, there was a long queue of vehicles at this time. Apart from this, due to the unpaved road and broken drains on the side, many vehicles were also stuck. The road has also sunk in many places. In order to go from Overbridge to Rajendra Chowk, the situation of jam remained since 3 o’clock.

At five o’clock in the evening, the entire bridge was jammed in order to go to Rajendra Chowk. At the same time, due to the bridge in Nivaranpur and Anantapur also, the road was obstructed by mud since morning. Due to the presence of soil in these areas, the road turned into mud.

The water level of dams increased in Wednesday’s rain

It was seen in the water level of Ranchi dams on Wednesday. Especially there was an increase of about half a feet of water in Rukka Dam. There was 17.8 feet of water in Rukka Dam on Tuesday. But on Wednesday the water level of the dam was estimated at 18.4 feet. Apart from this, there was 15 feet of water in Gonda Dam. While last year this dam had 17 feet of water this month.

Trouble due to water logging in the localities due to rain

Due to rain, a pond was formed near Naya Toli petrol pump. The water from the drains coming from the mohallas had accumulated on the road. Here it has become difficult to walk on the roads after 10 o’clock in the day.

Similar was the case in many places. During the passing of vehicles from here, people were most troubled by its splatter. Due to rain throughout the day, this problem persisted throughout the day.
