Beneficiary women of Ujjwala Yojana will be given free LPG cylinder (refill) before Diwali. They will get free cylinder before Holi also, but only Aadhar certified beneficiaries will be able to avail this benefit. It has been clarified in the government order issued by the Food and Logistics Department that two free cylinders will be provided to the Ujjwala beneficiaries in the first phase from October to December and in the second phase from January to March 2025. This benefit will be available only to those beneficiaries whose bank accounts are linked and certified with Aadhaar. In the current financial year, the state government will spend Rs 1889.84 crore on the cylinders to be given free of cost during Diwali and Holi. This estimate has been made on the basis of existing Aadhaar certified beneficiaries.
