This means that now you will have to pay more money for the cylinder. Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has announced an increase of Rs 50 in the price of LPG cylinder. Now LPG cylinder will be available for Rs 853. Earlier its price was Rs 803.

This increase has come at a time when inflation is already very high. The prices of food items are skyrocketing. In such a situation, the rising price of LPG cylinder is another blow to the common man.

Shock after blow

Earlier, amid the fall in crude oil prices in the international market, the government had increased the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 2 per liter. This information was given in an official order. According to this, excise duty on petrol has been increased by Rs 13 per liter and on diesel by Rs 10 per liter. However, this order does not state what kind of impact the increase in excise duty will have on the retail prices of petrol and diesel.

Meanwhile, industry sources said that despite the increase in excise duty, there is no possibility of change in the retail prices of petrol and diesel.

Fall in crude oil prices internationally

Due to the fall in crude oil prices internationally in the last few days, the retail prices of petrol and diesel were expected to come down. But now due to the increase in excise duty, the chances of this happening have reduced.
