Mahila Samman Savings Certificate: In Budget 2023, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced a new scheme for women. The name of this scheme is Mahila Samman Saving Scheme.
Mahila Samman Savings Certificate: This scheme has started on April 1, 2023. Women can invest money for 2 years through women savings certificate.
The special thing about this scheme is that a woman or girl of any age can invest in it. There is no age eligibility for opening an account under the scheme.
Under this scheme, women can invest an amount ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2 lakh. Under the Mahila Samman Savings Certificate Scheme, the government is offering an interest rate of 7.5 percent.
The maturity of this scheme is in two years. In this case, it is a short term investment scheme. Under this scheme, the account has been opened till March 31, 2025. Women can open only one account under the scheme. The government will transfer the interest money every quarter under the scheme.
You can sell the account under Mahila Samman Saving Certificate if the woman dies before maturity. Apart from this, the account can be closed prematurely after the completion of 6 months. To withdraw money before maturity, you have to fill Form-3.
Under this scheme, you can open a Mahila Samman Savings Certificate account at any bank or post office. If you deposit the entire Rs 2 lakh under this scheme, then according to the interest of 7.5 percent, you will get maturity Rs 2.32 lakh.
