PM Awas Yojana is being operated by the Central Government. On the same lines, state governments are also running housing schemes at their level to provide houses to the homeless people of the state. In this context, a new housing scheme is being started by the state government, preparations for which are going on in full swing.
This scheme is very special for those people who do not have their own house and live in a rented house. However, under PM Awas Yojana, houses are provided to the needy people at affordable rates. On the same lines, under this new housing scheme, the state government will give 100 percent funds for the construction of houses to poor and needy people. The objective of this scheme is to provide free houses to the poor and needy people of the state so that their dream of having their own house can come true and they can live in a permanent house.
How Much Benefit Will Be Received Under The Scheme
Under the scheme, a three-room house with kitchen will also be available. The area of the house built under this scheme will be 31 square meters. A provision has been made to increase the assistance amount under the scheme to Rs 2 lakh for eligible beneficiaries. Along with this, the beneficiary will be given honorarium for building a house under the housing scheme under MNREGA equal to a maximum of 95 unskilled man days at the current wage rate for housing construction.
How much money will the government spend on the scheme
The state government has made a provision of Rs 15,000 crore in the budget for this scheme. The target has been set to complete this scheme in the coming year. Families eligible for the scheme will be given a three-room house, the entire expense of which will be borne by the state government. It is roughly estimated that the government will have to spend about Rs 16 thousand 320 crore to complete this scheme.
How Will The House Be Constructed
Under the scheme, a target has been set to provide houses to 8 lakh families. It will be completed in three phases. The first phase of the scheme will be started in the financial year 2023-24 under which 2 lakh houses will be constructed. The second phase of the scheme will start in the financial year 2024-25 under which 3 lakh 50 thousand houses will be built. The last and third phase of the scheme will start in the financial year 2025-26, under which 2 lakh 50 thousand pucca houses will be constructed.
Who will get the benefit of the scheme?
Under this scheme, houses will be provided to the poor and needy people of the state to live in. In this scheme, housing will be provided to those people who have not been able to get benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In such a situation, people deprived of the benefits of PM Awas Yojana will be brought under the ambit of this scheme so that they can get houses.
Under this scheme, pucca houses will be provided to families living in kutcha houses, houseless and destitute families, especially vulnerable tribal families, families affected by natural disasters, legally released bonded labourers.
Along with this, people who are not eligible for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Rural, Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Housing Scheme, Birsa Housing Scheme, Indira Housing Scheme ) who have not received the benefit of this scheme will be given the benefit of this scheme. Under this scheme, a list of eligible beneficiaries of all the villages will be prepared.

What are the eligibility and conditions for the scheme?

- The applicant must be a native of the state.
- Under this scheme, only poor and needy families who do not have a permanent house will be eligible.
- Those who have received the benefit of PM Awas Yojana will not be eligible for this scheme.
