New Nursing Colleges In India: Nursing students are going to get a gift soon. A plan has been made to open 157 new nursing colleges across the country. The decision in this regard was taken in the cabinet meeting. This meeting was headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi . The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs took this decision in this context and informed that 157 new nursing colleges will be opened across the country. Each of these colleges will have 100 nursing seats. According to this, now nursing students will get admission on 15,700 additional seats. This number will increase from before.
Most colleges will be built in this state
These new nursing colleges will also be opened in the co-location of the medical colleges established since 2014. Out of total 157 nursing colleges, the maximum number of nursing colleges will be built in Uttar Pradesh. Their number will be 27. The next name in the list is Rajasthan with 23 colleges and the last name is Madhya Pradesh. 14 new nursing colleges will be built in Madhya Pradesh.
Decision taken in view of demand
In this regard, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told that this decision has been taken with the aim of meeting the demand of the increasing workforce in the health sector in the country. The target of opening 157 new colleges will be achieved in the next two years.
How many colleges are there now
At present there are 5,324 nursing colleges in the country and in the next two years the names of 157 new colleges will be added to this list. After this this number will become 5481. A budget of Rs 1570 crore has been approved for this work. A budget of Rs 10 crore has been fixed for the establishment of each college.
National Medical Device Policy approved
The National Medical Device Policy was also approved in this cabinet meeting chaired by the Prime Minister. Its purpose is to advance the medical device sector in the country. In this regard, the Health Minister said that the medical equipment sector will increase from the current $11 billion to $50 billion in the next five years.
