Pilot project has been completed
Nitin Gadkari informed that the pilot project of satellite based toll collection system on the corridor of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has been completed.
Work is going on to make automatic number plates
Along with this, he said that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has also run two experimental projects of Automatic Number Plate Recognition System to enable Automatic Toll Collection System without stopping the vehicles.

In this new GPS toll system, the number plate of your vehicle will be scanned as soon as you cross the toll plaza. After this, toll collection will be deducted from your bank account.
