Jharkhand’s Health Minister Irfan Ansari recently announced a ban on plain paan masala on the occasion of Cancer Day. Local 18 team asked the citizens of Bokaro about their opinion on this decision.

I completely agree with the decision of the Health Minister because every year thousands of people die of serious diseases like cancer due to consumption of paan masala and gutkha. If this ban is implemented properly, it will have a positive impact on the entire society.

The ban on pan masala and gutkha will be effective only when the government takes strict action against gutkha companies and wholesalers. Apart from this, shopkeepers selling gutkha and pan masala should earn their livelihood by selling other food products.
