Farmers get Rs 3.45 lakh crore in PM Kisan Yojana
Even before the Lok Sabha elections held in 2024, the amount of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was expected to be increased, but it did not happen. In the budget presented on February 1, 2019 before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the then Finance Minister Piyush Goyal had announced the introduction of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana.
Under the PM Kisan Yojana, small and medium farmers are given Rs 6000 annually in three installments. Under this scheme, money is transferred to the farmers’ bank accounts through direct transfer. So far, Rs 3.45 lakh crore has been transferred to the farmers’ bank accounts in 18 installments.
