Recently, in pre-budget discussions, agricultural experts met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. According to reports, they have requested the Finance Minister to increase the amount of PM-Kisan installment (PM kisan yojana Update) from the current Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 annually in the Union Budget. He has also demanded all subsidies to be given directly to the farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and additional funds for agricultural research in Budget 2024.

However, some conditions were also kept with it. Under the PM Kisan Yojana, eligible farmer families across the country receive Rs 6,000 annually in three installments (PM Kisan Yojana 17th installment) every four months through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
