PM Kisan Yojana Latest News: Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, one of the major schemes of the Central Government, was started in December 2018. This scheme provides financial help to the farmers and transfers Rs 6000 to the account annually. Now there is a demand to increase the amount given to farmers under this scheme.
The Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) has presented a report, in which considering the financial condition of the farmers, it has been advocated for increasing financial assistance. The ICRIER report has also demanded to increase the amount under PM Kisan Yojana (PM-KISAN).
The amount should increase according to inflation
ICRIER report says that under PM Kisan Yojana, only Rs 6,000 is being given to the farmers annually. No changes have been made in this, but the inflation of things has increased many times. In such a situation, keeping in mind the current inflation, financial assistance to farmers should be at least Rs 10,000.
CNBC-TV18.com’s report states that India has the largest number of small farmers, who have less than 2 hectares of land and on the other hand, the number of big farmers is very less. The report believes that farmers have to suffer losses due to trade policies. For this reason, the amount of assistance under PM Kisan Yojana should be increased.
Saving of Rs 10 thousand crores
The Central Government has recently made a saving of Rs 10 thousand crore under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, because the government has largely excluded ineligible farmers from this list. Due to this, demand has arisen to include landless farmers, tiedars and tenant farmers also.
When will the 15th installment be released?
It is noteworthy that no official information has been revealed regarding any changes under the scheme. The government is expected to release the 15th installment of PM Kisan Yojana between November and December 2023. However, no official announcement has been made yet.
