What did Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda say?
When it was asked in the Lok Sabha that the government is increasing the amount of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana from Rs 6,000? On this, Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda, while giving a written reply, said that at present no proposal to increase the amount of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is under consideration.
More than 11 crore farmers got benefits
Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda said that so far more than Rs 2.81 lakh crore has been paid to more than 11 crore farmers in 15 installments. The Agriculture Minister described the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme as the world’s largest DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer). He said that in this scheme it was ensured that the benefits reach the farmers directly without middlemen.
Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was started in 2019
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was launched in the year 2019. This plan proved to be a masterstroke in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Under this scheme, a total of Rs 6000 is given to farmers in four installments in a year. Rs 2,000 is given in one installment. This money is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
