Public Holidays 2025: The government has announced the holidays to be given in the year 2025. It has been informed through a circular that there will be 17 Gazetted Holidays and 34 Restricted Holidays in 2025. The list of holidays is released before the beginning of every year. These include holiday dates for schools, colleges, government offices and other departments.

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has released the list of public holidays. Apart from Sunday, on which special occasions will there be public holidays? Let’s know.

Actually, the main difference between Gazetted Holidays and Restricted Holidays is that Gazetted Holidays are mandatory. Whereas, Restricted Holidays are optional. This optional leave is provided by the organization under the cultural or religious program of its employees.
