What are the rules for ticket transfer?

  • If you want to transfer your ticket in the name of a family member, then first of all your ticket must be confirmed. Cannot transfer waiting list or RAC ticket, whether the ticket is booked online or offline .
  • Even among family members, you can transfer tickets only to your parents, brother or sister, spouse and son or daughter, and not to any other relative.
  • Passenger ticket request has to be placed before 24 hours of train departure.

How to transfer ticket

  • You will have to take the printout of your confirmed ticket and go to the reservation counter.
  • You will have to submit an application along with the Aadhaar card or Voter ID card of the person in whose name you want to transfer the ticket.
  • Both the person holding the confirmed ticket and the person in whose name the ticket is to be transferred will have to provide proof of their relationship.
  • After this, the ID of both the passengers and the copy of the ticket will have to be submitted to the Chief Reservation Supervisor at the nearest ticket counter.
