Chhattisgarh government has announced a 4 percent increase in the dearness allowance (DA) of its employees. With this, the dearness allowance in the state will now be 50 percent of the basic salary.
Along with the central government, the Chhattisgarh government has also increased the dearness allowance of employees. BJP-ruled Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has announced a 4 percent increase in the dearness allowance (DA) of state government employees. This is more than the central dearness allowance.
The central government has increased the DA by 3 percent. Now the dearness allowance in Chhattisgarh will be 50 percent of the basic salary. CM Vishnudev Sai told reporters in Raipur today that the festival of Diwali is near and in such a situation his government has decided to increase the DA by four percent. This will make it equal to the central government.
Senior state officials said that this decision will benefit about 3.90 lakh state government employees. This increase will be effective from October 1 this year. Earlier in early March, the state government had increased the DA by four percent, making it 46 percent of the basic salary.
