State Bank of India Debit Card: State Bank of India has shared an important information regarding re-issuance of debit card. SBI has told that if your debit card or ATM card expires, it will be sent to your address again only when you fulfill certain conditions. If this condition is not fulfilled, then you will have to go to the nearest branch and apply for the debit card.
This information has been shared by the country’s largest bank when a user complained about the debit card not being issued. SBI customer told that he has SBI account for more than 10 years. His debit card had expired recently, but instead of sending it to the address, the bank branch asked him to apply again. The customer has shared this information on X ie Twitter.
Rules for re-issuance of SBI Debit or ATM card
As per SBI rules, the bank automatically sends the debit card to the registered address of the customers only if they fulfill certain conditions. If you do not fulfill these conditions, then you will have to apply for a new debit card or ATM card by visiting the bank branch along with KYC documents.
- If your account is not a Financial Inclusion Account
- The card has been used at least once in the last 12 months
- The same customer’s PAN card is linked to the account
What did SBI say
Answering the customer’s question, SBI shared information regarding the debit card. The bank said that three months before the expiry of the debit card, the bank sends a new card to the customer on their registered number. If the above mentioned rules have been followed by the customer then the debit card will come, but if not done then the application will have to be made again.
