School Winter Vacation 2023: Due to fresh snowfall in the Himalayan regions, cold wave has started in many states of North India. In view of the severe cold and falling mercury, many state governments have declared winter holidays in schools. The latest order has come from the Jharkhand government.
In view of the cold wave, Jharkhand Education Department has issued an order to keep all types of schools closed in the state from 26 to 31 December. This decision has been taken by the Education Department in view of the increasing impact of cold wave in the state.
Here, keeping in view the Matriculation and Intermediate examinations, the respective schools will conduct classes 10th and 12th as per the requirement.
Winter holidays in UP from 31st December
Winter vacation will start in all the council schools of Uttar Pradesh from 31st December. There will be winter holidays in council schools from December 31 to January 14 next year after teaching on December 30. In this regard, orders have also been issued by the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council, in which it has also been said that in view of the change in weather and extreme cold during winter, the timing of school operation can be changed by the competent authority.
Delhi
The winter holidays of schools in Delhi will be from 1 January 2024 to 6 January 2024. Delhi government had closed schools in November due to pollution, hence this time the duration of winter vacation has been reduced from 15 days to 6 days.
Rajasthan
Winter holidays in schools of Rajasthan will start from 24th December. These holidays will last till January 5, 2024. That means there will be holiday for 13 days in government and non-government schools.
Jammu
All government and private schools of Jammu have been kept on winter vacation from December 11, 2023 to February 29, 2024. Holidays for students of classes 9th to 12th are from 18th December to 29th February.
Bihar
Bihar Education Department has not announced the winter holidays yet. The state government will soon make an announcement in this regard amidst the increasing winter.
