Success Story : Country’s first transgender officer, had to face humiliation

Success Story: The fight for the rights of the transgender community is still going on in India. There are very few people in the country who came to the transgender community and turned their dreams into reality. Today we are going to tell you about the success story of one such transgender who became the first teacher of her community.

People of the transgender community in India are still fighting for their acceptance. Homosexuality is no longer a legal crime. But their fight for rights is still going on. Aishwarya Rituparna Pradhan is a transgender who has created history by overcoming these struggles.

Aishwarya did not let her dreams die in front of the cruelty and ugliness of the society. Insulted by teachers in school, faced sexual harassment in college hostel and then made a difficult journey to come out of mental trauma. By overcoming all this, she became India’s first transgender civil servant.

Aishwarya Rituparna Pradhan is a resident of Katibageri village in Kandhamal district of Odisha. He first identified his gender orientation in the sixth grade and started treating himself like a woman. With this, their problems also started increasing.

Due to sexual orientation, he had to bear insult from the teacher. Had to face misbehavior in class. Although he completed schooling. After this he graduated from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC). He has also done PG in Public Administration.

Aishwarya Rituparna Pradhan appeared and qualified in the State Civil Services Examination of Odisha in the year 2010 as a male candidate. Still his difficulty had not subsided. People doubted his ability to perform his duty.

When the Supreme Court recognized transgender as the third gender in 2014, there was some relief somewhere. He immediately decided to change his gender from male to female. After this, he completed the paperwork for gender change. Also, she chose a new name for herself, Aishwarya Rituparna Pradhan.
