FTR booking

This is known as Free Tariff Rate (FTR) booking. However, people have to follow some conditions along with it. Along with this, if desired, coaches can also be added to the train.
FTR Registration
If you want to book under FTR, then you have to register with IRCTC. Also have to pay. It is valid for 6 months after getting registered under FTR. At the same time, FTR registration should be done for train booking at least 30 days in advance. On the other hand, when booking a train under this process, necessary information like booking type, which coaches are required in the train, etc. will have to be given. After this you have to submit your details. The registration amount will have to be deposited after 6 days of submitting the booking. If the registration amount is not deposited then this process will have to be done again.
New Account
FTR has to create a new account and generate a user ID and password. It is to be noted that IRCTC username and password will not work on this page, as a result, you will have to set a new user ID and password. Open the official website of FTR www.ftr.irctc.co.in and login by entering your User ID and Password. On the new page that opens, choose from the options to reserve the coach or train.
Train
After selecting your booking preference between train and coach, the website will take you to another page, where you will be required to enter details such as the date of your journey and the type of coach you want, inter alia. After entering the required information, click on ‘Check and Proceed’.
Payment
After this, a new payment page will open where you have to pay the registration fee. The registration cum security deposit for booking is Rs 50,000 per coach. Remember, the amount only applies for seven days of travel; For any additional days, you will have to pay an additional Rs 10,000 per coach, which will be added to your registration fee.
According to reserved coach
rules, even if less than 18 coaches are reserved in a train, registration fee will be charged for at least 18 coaches. The registration fee will increase by Rs 50,000 for each additional coach and an additional Rs 10,000 per day and registration fee will be charged for tours lasting more than seven days per coach. At the end of the payment your booking will be done.
