Miscreants pelted stones on Rourkela-Puri Vande Bharat train in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand on Monday afternoon. The incident took place near Odisha Jharsuguda station in Chakradharpur Railway Division. Due to this, the glass of C-1 coach of Vande Bharat train broke. The stone pelting on the coach spread panic among the passengers. RPF jawans of the train escort and the coach conductor pacified the passengers.

A goods train derailed near Chandil railway crossing of Seraikela-Kharsawan at 12 noon on Monday. The wheel of the goods train engine derailed on Tata-Purulia railway section at KS number 7. In the incident, the rail track broke and got uprooted at many places. After getting information about the incident, many officials including ADRM of Chakradharpur Railway Division reached the spot and started the repair work. On getting the information of the engine derailment, there was chaos at Tatanagar and other stations for about three hours.

ART (Accident Relief Train) van was sent to the site of incident from Tatanagar after 1 pm. Railway workers of Chandil were busy in repairing the track by pulling the engine. Chakradharpur division cancelled Hatia Express and Barkakana Passenger from Tatanagar. Due to this, train will not leave from Barkakana for Tatanagar on Tuesday. Three other trains were also affected. Kharagpur-Tata Passenger was cancelled from Galudih station. Hundreds of passengers of Kolhan faced problems due to cancellation of three local trains. Movement of villagers of Sikli, College Mor in Chandil was affected. Goods train was sent to its destination at around 6 pm. Track repair continued even after the departure of goods train.
